I vow to never teach someone how to play Settlers,

EVER AGAIN! We tried to have a game night because we've really been having withdrawls since our fabulous Christmas break in Ohio where we played the game far too much. We've tried twice to play it with friends and it was just not all that I hoped it would be. Teaching it takes FOREVER and really, you don't get to play. I ended up winning the second game by a long run but it was bitter sweet because they really didn't know how to play very well yet. Maybe we should let them borrow the game so they can practice and get up to par. I'll probably just end up playing the few times a year I get to be with my amazing family.

Settlers snob. It could be that you need to be more patient with the friends. (Hi kettle, my name is pot.) OR remember that time you played Cranium and it took forever to play. Well, it could just be that.

either do the patience thing or just give them a very brief over view and play a quick "learning game". then you actually get some good playing time in and they have a good time, and when you are ready to play it again you have a viable opponent.

Jeff just volunteered to be on their team. Who wouldn't love that? ME.
