For those of you who didn't watch "The Mormons" on PBS just skip this rant

I really don't understand how they can take some random people and have them speak about things that they really don't know about. Like for instance, a Sociology Professor, yes he probably knows a good deal about Mormons as a subculture and our interactions with the people around us. How on earth does that give him the right to speak about Joseph Smith translating the golden plates? They had professional people but they didn't use them in their field of expertise, instead they used their opinions on matters they shouldn't have credibility for. It really is frustrating to see incorrect things, half truths and easily misconstrued statements put out by people well disguised as scholars in these subjects. It really is so frustrating for me to see a misconstrued view of the church put out there for all rash conclusion making people to see. I'm glad I have a good husband who can help me turn this not great situation and use it as an opportunity to strengthen my testimony. There were brief moments in the documentary where truth was testified and you could feel it. Every time I hear President Hinkley talk I feel a sweet calm come over me. It was so evident that the truths were very true and the misconstrued untruths were very wrong. I just hope and pray that most were able to see what was and was not true.

Yeah I was annoyed about some of the comments that were made. Mi esposo pointed out that probably 98% of the people watching the show are members of the church and know the truth. But still. Just because it was on television doesn't mean that it's the truth, and I think those peeps are going to be accountable for everything that was said. So there.
