I love being a stay at home mom, BUT
the only part I can stand is the mom part. I really loathe cleaning and if you'd like to see me turn into a POed stress-ball ask me to cook dinner. I mean seriously, I don't know how you super moms do it all. I really am trying and I just don't know where to start. The cooking... I don't even know what to keep on hand so at the grocery store I just default to the same old stuff and mix it up with some new freezer foods. Cleaning... I really try but with my history I really am like a toddler... I've just started jabbering and a long way from making a complete sentence. Not to mention I NEED to find time to work out at least 4 days a week. It really is overwhelming. I need advice and a lot of it. If you have an awesome schedule that keeps you on top of things tell me your secrets! I need them.... sincerely, drowning in housework:)

You're not crazy, we've all been there or still are there...
One thing that really helps me is to sit down and make a menu for the week. I make up the shopping list from the menu and get to it. I have a semi schedule for cleaning. It is flexible, you have to be when you are a mom. One thing I've started doing the last couple of weeks is making sure the kitchen is mostly clean before I go to bed. That way in the morning I don't get frustrated about the dirty kitchen... now if only they would invent a self unloading dishwasher...
i just left a really long comment and then it gave me an error. so, argh.
all i was saying was the kassie is right about the early morning sanity saver of cleaning up the kitchen before you go to bed.
for us, the two keys to my somewhat clean house (which i'm not saying i always do, but works for us) is 1. to try to keep it picked up and then do a final pickup at bedtime. kids help.
and 2. i do a deep clean once a week, mon or tues for me. and so i'm not cleaning aimlessly and taking a long time, i shut everything off (so i'm not distracted with my computer or phone or anything) and during max's nap i will deep clean my house. bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, floors. it usually takes me about 1-2 hours. and when i'm done i feel SO much better about my house and my life. i don't know if that helps.
but as for meals, i'm really bad about that...so i'm interested in any kind of comments you get.
If you need suggestions, this is a good place to start:
