When I saw the cover of the August Ensign I realized

this Ensign was just what I was needing. Two article titles on the front instantly drew me in, "Feelings of Inadequacy" and "Becoming Equal Partners"*. I know for a fact I'm not the only one struggling with these issues. Take the time to read them and ponder them and use them to improve your life. I will definitely be trying to. One thing I've particularly pondered especially during my visits to the temple is my role in the marriage defined as a "help meet". I was so grateful to hear this explanation. "Eve was Adam's 'help meet' (Genesis 2:18). The original Hebrew for meet means that Eve was adequate for, or equal to, Adam. She wasn't his servant or his subordinate. And the Hebrew for help in "help meet" is ezer, a term meaning that Eve drew on heavenly powers when she supplied their marriage with the spiritual instincts uniquely available to women as a gender gift."

I've heard people talk about how they felt an Ensign article was written for them. Well I've been blessed with two this month! I'm thankful Heavenly Father knows my needs and gives me the tools I need to become better.

People always want to be the best and achieve their full potential. If it were easy we wouldn't need to keep learning it. When my children were little my husband asked "why don't they just listen and do it?" I answered "how many times does Heavenly Father tell us to do something?" And I ask myself "why the same lesson over and over?" I must really need it. If we achieved everything the first time every time, what satisfaction would that be if we always knew the outcome. We must have faith and hope that is how things are set up. I haven't read the article but I've been married over 30 years and I'm still trying to figure out how to be a good helpmeet. I guess he should've found a faster learner! I'll read it as soon as it gets here. thanks.

I saw that article yesterday morning during breakfast. For some reason the kiddos let me read during breakfast and the Ensign is my magazine of choice. I LOVED the article about being equal partners. I told my visiting teachers that they had to read that article today because it was so awesome! I made Jake read it when he got home from work yesterday. I totally know how you feel. :) I need to read that other one though... sounds like breakfast tomorrow.

You rock. I don't know if we've gotten it yet. I'll go look around. Love you!

I let my subscription lapse and now I sponge it off family members. It's sad, really.

I like the little Sample stories at the back.
