So I need your opinion...

Even if you're lurking around here I want your opinion. I feel like I've finally found the direction I want to go with some of the rooms in my house. Yes, I've lived here for almost 3 years and I'm just now starting to do something with it. So I put venetian bronze cabinet hardware on all of the cabinets and since I've wanted to switch out the rest of the hardware (door knobs, hinges, light fixtures etc.) Since we don't make that kind of money I'm trying to do some things to what we have to make them work. First project

Original knob, treated knob and installed hardware.

What's your opinion? Does my 5 cent fix work or should I splurge and buy new ones? Would you buy a house that had door knobs like this? Not that I'm selling, I just always have resale value on my mind. I watch too much Designed to Sell.

Next project

I found these bed in a bags at Target of all places... what a stretch of the imagination. I really can't decide between them!!

I also can't decide on the paint color... I want opinions and I want them now!

Unless you don't like any of them, then I don't want to hear it.

Which room makes you want to go lay down and take a nap?

How is the finish on the knobs? Dull? Does it come off on your hands?

I like the second bed in a bag.

I like the first paint.

EW it does NOT come off on your hand. That would be sooo ghetto and a definite no. It still has a slight sheen to it.

I like the doorknobs... I'm all about coming up with weird solutions to expensive problems like that. I like the 2nd bedding and the last paint color.... I really like them all, but if I had to choose it would be the last one. Of course, I would never buy light color bedding with my 4 kids - it would be ruined in six months!

I like the look of the refinished knob. Very pretty. Nice job!

I love those bedding choices, but I would definitely go with the second choice for the reason Christy gave. Darker fabric hides dirt.

The second room color makes me want to go into hibernation. the lighter colors are pretty and make the room feel airy which is nice, but I like to actually sleep in my room and the second one makes it feel a little more cozy I think. Just my $0.02.

Numero tres says naptime better than the others, I think.

The five cent fix works for getting rid of the brass, but is slightly too coppery looking for the silver based color of the kitchen cabinet pulls.

I seriously thought that the middle knob was wooden though.

First bed in a bag, but think about the kidlet situation. How likely is it that it will get messy and how easy will it be to clean once it does get messy as it inevitably will.

oh an additional thought to the paint color dilemma are you going for naptime or full on coma?

I think the knob solution would work, especially if you already have the stuff... then after you've had them on for a while and you decide you don't like it... get new knobs. I'm pretty sure I like the first bed in a bag. But with a little boy... I'd probably go with the second one unless he's not going to get on it (year right). The first paint color is pretty. I think the 2nd one has too much purple in it. The 3rd one is really pretty too, but I like the last paint color the best.

Okay, this is the funniest thing I guess I should have specified this. Rooms 1 & 3 are the same color as are rooms 2 & 4. I just put the different color bedding in to give the look of the bedding and paint together. I'm not really concerned about lighter material getting dirty because BL is rarely ever on my bed. We have light colored bedding right now and it isn't a problem at all. So if that's the only reason you decided on the second come back and let me know!

With the light your room gets you could use black on the walls. I'm partial to the blue myself, but that also is a large room and not likely to get painted again so you might want to stay more neutral. You were raised in a house where BLUE rules so , ya know some color of blue. Use your decor that can be changed around for more color detail. You know that you watch designed to sell also and some people don't like blue, can't imagine that though.

put the doorknob on the door and take another picture, then I'll give my opinion on the hardware. But hey wait you already painted one so go for the gusto!

I like the 2nd and 4th paint color, no opinion on the hardware although anything is prob. better than the brass look. and the bedding I don't know but def. the paint I like the 2nd one.

I LOVE the new door knob and hardware. I would buy a house with those on there. I like the 2nd bedding and I love the darker blue paint - number 2 and number 4 look very similar. It looks almost identical to our bedroom so that's probably why I like it so much! Let us know when you make the final decisions!

for some reason I thought I commented on this a while back...apparently not. DId you already do the hardware, bc it looks really great! I like bedding number 1 and the 1st paint choice with lighter bedding *so number 3*. Yes, we will enjoy renting for a few more years...yipee!! It def. made my stress levels come down about 99%...now to find the place and the job!
