So I had an epiphany

A friend of mine is going through a really tough time. She's on bed rest with her second and she has the flu or food poisoning. I've been in the exact situation and I can honestly say there is nothing worse that heaving your guts out while pregnant. It causes contractions and dehydration which also can lead to contractions. But through all this yuck I've learned a lot. I know exactly what my friend needs. I've felt those pains and those fears and it helps me to know how I can serve her and show her compassion. It totally hit home to me and helped me apply this to Christ and the atonement. He really did suffer all that we have and will go through. He knows exactly what we need and how to help us. He really does know our pains because he suffered them. It's such a beautiful principle.

what a good point. when we feel compassion and really know what someone is going through because we've gone through it, that is Christlike. thanks for pointing that out. i need to be more compassionate.
