it was a good potty day. We didn't start off very well because BL was not well rested and so he was extra cranky. He ended up having two accidents today and went on the potty probably 9 times throughout the day successfully. A couple of times he told me he had to go. The rest of the time was just keeping him on the clock.
The biggest obstacle right now is when I lay him down to go to sleep and he says he wants to go to the potty. WHAT DO I DO!? During nap time he asked to go three times and one time he actually went. He will just sit there on the potty FOREVER so he doesn't have to go back to bed. So I finally just put my foot down and left him in there. Which subsequently lead to a poopy pull up. ( I don't count this accident because I really was paying no attention to whether or not he wanted to go anymore )
We ran into the same situation at bedtime. He probably sat on the potty for a good 45 minutes and I finally made him tell the potty goodnight and put him to bed.
Do you keep your boys on a clock or just wait for them to tell you? If you keep them on the clock how often do you take them? How do you know when they are crying wolf to get out of bed?
I'm also worried about the poo situation. We didn't get to address it today and I think it might be a big obstacle because he usually goes and hides somewhere. I guess we'll see.
I tried to keep my expectations low and honestly I was just waiting for him to pee everywhere all day long. Even right after he'd go in the potty. I was amazed at how well he was able to stay dry. It really helped a lot to have his cousin there to help motivate him. It helped me even more to have my sister there with me who has been through it before. Thanks again!!

I don't know anything about potty training, but I love you and 12 days.
Yikes - I have no experience in this subject - but it seems as though you are doing a great job! Keep it up! :)
You are doing awesome! It was much more enjoyable having company. :)
potty queens!
one week!
I never had that issue with my boys. I think you having BL say "good night" to the potty was a good idea. You're doing great!
Keep up the good work - potty training doesn't happen overnight! We've regressed a lot over here, so I'm getting tough and taking away pull-ups completely. If he is wearing one, he will just go in it like it's a diaper! I bought a package of regular diapers just for wearing to bed and nothing else (well, maybe Nursery will be an exception). Hope this works!
Worms, your kid is so cute. It's been a while. Hope Phoenix is treating y'all well. What are y'all up to these days?
I heard about him going all by himself congratulations!
For my little mens....I put underwear on them....THEN the pull up....they had all the unpleasantries, and my clean up wasn't as catastrophic. We also shot at fruit loops. Plus, we also did a crazy loopy out of control "potty dance" where in we all ran around the house announcing who went potty....where they went potty....and how big and great they were! Potty dances are fun....doing one now....good luck!
that is hilarious that he put two and two together about getting out of nap time, what a smart cookie!! Sounds like he is doing really well though!!
